The installation, Markib-Zahra, which means “boat-flower”, is comprised of a dark green, square wooden plank on which ninety-nine green tissue paper boats are placed in three concentric circles. The boats are oriented towards a single point at the circle’s center. The wooden plank is hung on the wall so that the viewer can only see the top of the boats, which thus become diamond-shaped geometric forms. Behind each boat are diodes that emit a light that appears green due to the tissue paper filter.
