Terracotta and enamel matt
75 x 75 cm

Darwish refers to Sufism, the religious practice that lauds the refusal of material life for the benefit of spiritual life. Created at the Ceramic Center in the Netherlands, this artwork is made of white clay covered with matte white enamel that recalls lime or the dervishes’ costumes. A green light emerges from the gap between the ground and the cone, which seems to levitate.
